Today we introduce this application of Vuototecnica vacuum cylinders dedicated to operators in the printing / packaging industry, to press, and to anyone who has to handle and move sheets of paper or other light materials.
As you can see in the video, the printouts are peeled one by one from the pile, thanks to the rapid and repetitive action of the cylinder, able to filter air between one sheet and another.

In doing so, there is no risk of taking two or more sheets together, stuck together.
The withdrawal of the single instruction sheet by the two suction cups mounted on the mechanism, as you can see, is fast and precise. In addition, the sheets are not crumpled by the contact, which is delicate, with the suction cup.
Please, notice how as soon as the lip of the suction cup creates a seal on the sheet, the vacuum cylinder has the unique advantage (not offered by pneumatic or electric cylinders) to adapt autonomously and retreat to the different positioning heights of the object to be taken.

As you already know, regular readers of our blog, Octopus customization pushed to the maximum point thanks to the realization of gripping hands using a 3D printer.
We already saw a similar application in the post dedicated to CO-BOT by Universal Robot. (If you missed it you can find it here.)
In the video below, you can see in action another robot with multi-sided gripping hand and different suction plans depending on the objects to be taken and moved.

Please, notice the precision and solidity of different gripping: from food packaging, to cardboards, passing through porous sheets, up to the aluminum cans and to liquid-filled blisters. All packaging formats can be moved thanks to Vuototecnica Octopus.
The gripping surfaces can be in foam rubber, can mount rows of suction cups, Bernoulli systems, without contact, or be customized in 3D.
Thanks to 3D printing, in particular, customers’ needs are treated case-by-case, with custom-designed gripping heads to accommodate the shape of the object, winding and holding it. The gripping hands are made of ABS and so they can be resistant and light at the same time.
In this specific case, the source of vacuum generation is external to the gripping hand, but it is possible, according to the space requirements, to integrate pneumatic ejectors directly inside.

PVP 2 M single-stage vacuum generator: a self-contained unit for loading and unloading sheets

Laser cutting involves several important steps, including loading-unloading from the cutting machine.

In these particular phases, typically, vacuum is the best solution for handling and releasing thanks to suction cups, glass plates, plastic panels or similar sheets, efficiently.

Vuototecnica has, however, thought to make these operations even simpler by designing PVP 2 M single-stage vacuum generator.

It is based on the Venturi principle and it is a true self-contained unit, already equipped with a suction cup (close to the generator). One of the most appreciated features along with the fact that this generator can be mounted directly on the robot.

In fact, this compactness allows the customer to create a cluster of independent and autonomous suction cups, so that they can pick up plates of different sizes and shapes from time to time.

PVP 2 M generator is made of anodized aluminum with brass ejector – materials that last over time and guarantee quality.

MECSPE 2019: Vuototecnica waits for you!

From March 28 to 30, 2019 MECSPE returns in Parma, after closing the 2018 edition with the registration of 53,442 professional operators (+ 17% compared to the 2017 edition), thus confirming its central position among the fairs dedicated to the manufacturing sector.

From March 28 to 30, 2019 MECSPE returns in Parma, after closing the 2018 edition with the registration of 53,442 professional operators (+ 17% compared to the 2017 edition), thus confirming its central position among the fairs dedicated to the manufacturing sector.

This fair is the meeting point between production technologies and industrial chains, thanks to the synergy among the trade shows that take place at the same time and the innovative exhibiting system with Excellence Squares, Demonstrative Units and Working Isles.

Vuototecnica, as usual, will not miss the appointment to present you live the latest applications of its solutions to create and manage the vacuum.

If you want to know the new products and talk with the designers, you can find Vuototecnica at Hall 5, stand H71.
