District Energy Systems are networks of hot and cold water pipes, typically buried underground, that are used to efficiently heat and cool buildings using less energy than if the individual buildings were to each have their own boilers and chillers.
District Energy Systems have several benefits:
-The elimination of the conventional or traditional (boilers, furnaces, heat pumps, domestic hot water heaters, electric baseboards, or any other heat production equipment) HVAC system requirement expands the number of possible building design options.
-District energy systems have none of the costs normally associated with in-building heating systems, including boilers, multiple storage tanks, and other associated equipment as well as related insurance, maintenance, upgrade, and replacement costs.
– Centralized production of thermal energy enables highly efficient delivery of heating and cooling to each building.
– The use of alternative fuel sources reduces exposure to fluctuating gas and electricity prices.
– Radiant sources provide a more comfortable, effective heat than can be provided by electric baseboard heaters. The system can also provide cooling.
– The system’s use of alternative energy sources and greater efficiency produces fewer greenhouse gas emissions than what is produced by fossil fuel-based systems.

Recycled water has many applications. It is most commonly used for non-potable purposes, such as agriculture, landscape, public parks, and golf course irrigation. Other non-potable applications include cooling water for power plants and oil refineries, industrial process water for such facilities as paper mills and carpet dyers, toilet flushing, dust control, construction activities, concrete mixing, and artificial lakes. There are also projects that use recycled water indirectly for potable purposes. Water recycling can help us find ways to decrease the diversion of water from sensitive ecosystems. Other benefits include decreasing wastewater discharges and reducing and preventing pollution. Recycled water can also be used to create or enhance wetlands and riparian habitats.

Current patterns of agricultural expansion and intensification are bringing unprecedented environmental externalities, including impacts on water quality.
According to a new book titled “More people, more food, worse water? A global review of water pollution from agriculture”, water pollution from agriculture poses a serious risk to human health and the planet’s ecosystems. In many countries the biggest source of water pollution today is agriculture — not cities or industry — while worldwide, the most common chemical contaminant found in groundwater aquifers is nitrate from farming. We need a much better understanding of the causes and effects of agricultural water pollution as well as effective means to prevent and remedy the problem.

Two fundamental values of ISOIL Industria, since it was established in 1958, are: the belief that the work is an extraordinary opportunity of human enhancement and the continuous effort to offer clients and partners the solutions that count.
To celebrate its 60th anniversary by remembering these values, the company has taken part in a very special project: the Isoil team rolled up their sleeves to design and build a number of functional and recreational amenities donated to a residential community belonging to the Milan based charitable organisation CAF. The community currently accommodates 30 children victims of violence.
Have a look at the video of this amazing experience!
