According to the latest statements it appears that nuclear energy will be one of the main sources of power production by 2029.
Ghana has already made several attempts to diversify its energy mix with the introduction of solar sources. Now, the Ministry of Energy is also thinking about nuclear energy. The government has established a Nuclear Regulatory Authority to guide the implementation of Ghana’s Nuclear Power Programme.
Before developing an infrastructure for nuclear power, each country must demonstrate ownership of infrastructural requirements. Lately, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) declares that the country already has all 19 required requirements. The first of three phases required by IAEA has passed!
